MOLOSENI:All time Best Actor


Mzuzu University's reigning Best Actor, Steven Moloseni added another memorabilia to his shelf after winning MUTHEs prestigious award of Best Actor.

Steve has reigned as Mzunis best actor since his debut in MUTHE colours. He first performed as Trosky in "True Lies". Steve has reigned as the campus best actor and his recognition in MUTHe did not come as a suprise.

Apart from "Trues Lies", he also perfomed in MUTHEs thriller "Love of Honor"

As we went to press, Steve was also up for recognition by his fellow outgoing students as the 'Most humerous final year student'

Steve pictured with Trustees, Misozi Gundo, Misheck Banda and Paul Kubwalo was awarded a Certificate of Excellence and a memorabilia.

Nkasala scoops 'Most improved Actor' Award


It was a busy day for Trustee Misheck Banda who presided over the Award presentation ceremony as MUTHe recognises talent. Assisted by Trustees Misozi Gundo and Paul Kubwalo, Misheck Banda announced the name nominated for the award of MUTHEs Most improved Actor as Martin Nkasala.

Martin Nkasala made his debut in MUTHE colours on July 6 as MUTHE staged its third production 'Emotional Crunch" Martin was the main actor and indeed he was the best and a man to watch.

He was presentated with a Certificate of Excellence and a memorabilia by Trustee Misheck Banda in absentia.

Regina is MUTHEs Most Improved Actress


Regina Kamwambeni made her first appearence in MUTHE colours on independence day during the spine-chilling production "Emotional Crunch". Regina was a supporting actor in the play and played the role of Blessed. She mesmerised the audience and was indeed a marvel to watch. MUTHE members had no choice but to vote her the "Most improved Actress" of the group.

Regina was presented with a 'Certificate of Excellence' and a memorabilia by Trustee Misheck Banda at a farewell party of outgoing members.

MUTHE has a new President!


Mzuzu University TheatreHeights Ensemble (MUTHE) has a new President. Trustee Misozi Gundo unveiled the new first citizen of MUTHE during a get together party at Trustee Kishindos residence in Chimaliro Mzuzu. The new President is Leah Umphawi who took over from David Nyirenda - the man who has truly served MUTHE. David Nyirenda is now a Trustee of MUTHE and cannot continue serving as President.

Leah Umphawi was until to her ascession to the high office of MUTHE, vice president and her appointment is in line with the MUTHE constitution which elevates the veep to presidency if the high office becomes vacant.

MTL at MUTHE Party


MUTHE partys in style at Trustee Lydia Kishindo house and painfully parted with some founders and hardworking members.

The first ever party to be attended by a cross section of Trustees and member was full of excitement and funny scenes as members sozzled themselves with all kinds of alcohol and soft drinks. The braii was another place that made the party reach its climax.

The elite of Trustees present included, Paul Kubwalo, Misozi Gundo, Misheck Banda, Gift Chingwalu, Lewis Gulula, Chiamiko Chinkwita Phiri and the hostess Trustee Lydia Kishindo. Missing from the list is Trustee Richard Ngalu who is away while Lucky Mhango, Milandu Mhango and Dorothy Chipeta were engaged.

Speaking at the function, MTL's Commercial Manager for the North, Mr. Nkunika thanked MUTHE for inviting them to be part of the party and pledged his companys support to MUTHE activities. He said MTL is happy to be associated with MUTHE activities and looks forward to a working relationship in the future. Responding to the MTL boss speech, Trustee Chinkwita-Phiri assured MTL of MUTHEs availability in their functions. She asked MTL to make use of the members of MUTHE especially those who are graduating by offering jobs. Malawi Telecomunications Limited (MTL) were the sponsors of MUTHE's Emotional Crunch.
