After the performance, one of the actors Auther Chitsulo said, he was happy to commemorate the life of ‘the fallen hero’, Sydney Ngwira with a wonderful performance MUTHE displayed as it could be read from the response of the audience.

Curtain raising the performance which took place at the university hall were Mzuni’s Reggie sensation Redson Kambwiri and hip-hop king Zinja.

Mzuzu University students will join the State President Ngwazi Dr. Bingu Wa Mutharika and the entire nation celebrating 45 years of independence with various activities to take place in the University Hall on Monday 6th July 2009. Fresh from a heated battle with the University Administration over delayed book and stationery allowance and a break from class assignment, the students have lined up several activities spearheaded by Mzuzu University TheatreHeights Ensemble (MUTHE), the campus’s theatre powerhouse.
According to the group’s members, there will be recitals, dances and a theatre performance by the group. The group will also celebrate the life of one of its founders and a Lecturer, late Sydney Ngwira who died on 18th May 2009 with a candle memorial service.

The group which will be dressed by Malawi Telecommunication Limited (MTL) has promised fireworks and fun to its fan on the campus and outside.

The coming in of Malawi Telecommunication Limited to the event has just added fun to the event as it shows how the company appreciates student on campus activities. According to information on the groups’ website, MTL is the third big organization to associate its activities with Mzuzu University TheatreHeights Ensemble (MUTHE) activities after Population Service International (PSI) and Zain Malawi.
